Of course, unless you're an insider, no one knows for sure if a new 50mm lens will be released; however, based on past product launch schedules, do you think there's a possibility it might come out sometime in 2026? The most recent 50mm F1.2 is too heavy for my Preference, so I’d love to see a lightweight lens—around 200g with an F2.0

They have Nokton Vintage Line 50mm F1.5 Aspherical II (2020 release) at 198g and Color-Skopar 50/2.2 (2024 release) at 135g currently in production. I don't think there would be a new 50mm VM lens in the plans for this year but they might replace the Nokton with a new version sometime in the future. If they do so, they would probably first discontinue the current version and release a new version several months later, but so far the current version hasn't been discontinued.
I don't think they'd make a regular 50/2 Ultron in the near future as those 2 lenses pretty much cover the same ground and they are both below 200g.
They also have 50/1, 50/1.5 Heliar classic, 50/2 & 50/3.5 Apo-Lanthars (multiple versions) in production as well so there are lots of options at 50mm as it is.

Yes and both are excellent. The 50/2.2 is my workhorse as I prefer lighter, smaller lenses but before that, I used the 50mm/1.5 as my main 50mm.
The 50/1.2 is maybe big but very impressive too. I sold because because having it calibrated on a rangefinder was a PITA.
I do not see the need for another 50mm but with Voigt, who knows?

For my part I would.
There's nothing wrong with owning many 50mm lenses, but the more you have, the harder it gets to decide which one to actually shoot with. I'm guilty as charged, I've ended up with way too many. Eventually, I plan to narrow it down a bit: a well-corrected APO, something very compact, something very fast, and one or two I simply love for its character.
Similar in rendering: Leica 50/2 Rigid, Light Lens Lab 50/2 Elcan, and Light Lens Lab 50/1.9 ZS6, my favorite of the three is the new ZS6.
The LLL 50/1.5 Z21 and 50/2 SP2 are both very unique lenses and stand out to me. I'm also a big fan of the three fast options at the top, each one is distinct in performance and rendering. The MS Optics is just a super compact f/1, and that alone makes it special.

I could continue to purchase some 50mm to no end, it’s the focal length I like most when I feel two 35mm and a 75mm are enough, I don’t own more.
I was always looking for a combination of feats that would match what I like and with all the new players that have joined the game in the recent years(it’s really quite recent), it has given me some unlikely options looking back at how hard it was before that.
Recently I managed to get a Peace Lens 50mm 1.4 and it might be the lens that has it all regarding what I like.(you told me so a long time ago that I would be happy with a Summilux pre-Asph, you were quite right)
I will still look at the new,options though, the Lailens, The Shoten Tribute…etc
My favorite 50mm for now should be:
-Light Lens Lab "1966" 50mm 1.2 / Light Lens Lab Z21 50mm 1.5 battling for the 1st place
-Peace Lens 50mm 1.4
-Light Lens Lab SP II 50mm f2(even though I said for a while that I wished they made another version with warm coating to get rid of those blue flares and give some more pleasing artefacts, I believe that their new 75mm would prove my theory right)
-MS-Optics 50mm 1.3(I could wish for a new version also, the flares are not really pleasing on that one)
Well, all this proving that there is room for some more, many more.
