I am leaning into the pancakes for a super light weight kit. Since I will be shooting a lot mid day - thinking a CP might be in order. I typically use B+W filters. This seems to be a thin one that would minimize vignetting: B+W 43mm Master High Transmission Kaesemann Circular Polarizer MRC Nano Glass Filter. Thoughts?
Most of my filters are in 49 or 62 sizes. I prefer to use properly sized filters when they stay glued to the lens. I will use step up rings if I only use it occasionally.
A pro is that with the lens hood of the CV pancakes it won't interfere with the hood.
Because I live by the ocean, I often use a polarizer filter due to the usually high moisture in the air. The beauty of these cpl filters is that they cut through said moisture and reveal saturated colors and contrast otherwise lost. Most beneficial for puffy white clouds in a blue sky.
I presently shoot with a Fuji X T5 and often use the Voigtlander 27 f2 x mount.. one of my favorite lenses. I discard the tiny flat VX lenshood and use a B&W 43mm CPL along with a 43 mm circular metal lens hood. The lenshood alows me to change the polarization by turning the hood.
This lens is one of my sharpest and most colorful in my kit... plus it is extremly small. All good imo..

While I used a 43 to 46mm step up ring with my 46mm B&W CP on my recent photo trip with the 18 & 27mm C/V's, a 43mm CP is on the radar. I use B&W CP and CP/Kasemann filters in 46, 49, 52, 62 and 67mm for many, many years. Along with 2 or 3 B&W ND's for the portrait lenses when using flash outside. (The Kasemenn adds a warming tint, which I used to add to a pre-Kasemann via a 2nd filter, but can now easily be done by PP.) Figure I got a least a camera body's $ worth of their filters, but well worth it, as they have held up so well.
