Up for sale is my full spectrum Canon R and a good IR lens (no hotspots) to go with it. I bought this camera specifically for IR use and I think it’s a good choice for that, but I’ve been using Fuji for everything else and I find it annoying to go back and forth on the menus & ergonomics. So I’ll sell this setup and get a Fuji camera converted. Here are the particulars:
Canon R body, purchased here on FM in 2025 from an established member and converted to full spectrum by Kolari. I found the R to be a great choice for getting started in infrared, especially because of Canon’s excellent manual focus assist. It’s in excellent condition with no signs of use - no scratches, dings, or dents. Shutter count is about 23,000 . Comes with two OEM batteries plus David Busch’s book. Price is $ 750 (net) and I will cover insured shipping by USPS or UPS.
Canon RF 24-105/4.1- lens. This lens is slower than the L version, but that’s not really a factor since IR shooting is best done in full daylight. It’s also noticeably lighter. Bought from Canon’s refurb shop and is in excellent condition, no dents or dings, glass is clear. Both OEM caps included, comes in the Canon refurb box. Price is $ 250 (net) including insured shipping.
Kolari 67mm IR Chrome 67mm filter. Shooting with this filter is a good way to get started in infrared, it produces the look of Aerochrome film and the processing does not require swapping the color channels. Price is $100. Rob Shea has lots of good information about this on his site: https://blog.robsheaphotography.com/2021/09/02/ir-chrome-infrared-filter-review.html.
Kolari 67mm UV/IR Cut, or “hot mirror” filter. Put this on and your camera is back to taking normal exposures. Price is $30.
All prices are net to me and I’ll pay for insured shipping by USPS or UPS within the CONUS.
PACKAGE DEAL: Buy the camera, lens, and both filters for a total of $1,025 and I’ll throw in a Tenba bag that accommodates the whole setup nicely.
