The Black Skimmer is a well adjusted, intelligent bird that gets along with others. Despite being closely related to the skimmer, the Common Tern makes an annoying, aggressive clicking sound at anything that moves and will crap on you when you are simply walking down the beach minding your own business.

Yes it is and an odd mistake for me. These photos were taken t Nickerson Beach, Long Island. One of the largest Black Skimmer collineys breads there very summer. There are about 500 mating pairs there this summer.
