The historic transcontinental railway along the Truckee River as it emerges from the Sierra Nevada at Verdi NV. You can hike along a good portion of the route between Reno and the Town of Truckee. These are from a couple locations near Verdi. This time of year wild horses congregate in the Quilici Ranch area where there is little traffic and good access to grazing and the river.
