This morning, I took a quick look at the B&S bell, searching on Fuji, and saw a WTB ad for a Fuji X-Pro2. I have one that I bought here on FM and have thought of selling it, so I went to see who I had bought it from, to see what I had paid for it. When I came back to the B&S board, that WTB ad was gone. I’ve searched using every criterion I can think of - WTB, Fuji, X-Pro2, combinations of all those, and nothing turns up.
Once a person has placed an ad, is it possible for them to completely delete it? Since it was a WTB, does “withdrawing” the ad make it disappear from the list?
The ad can be partially "Deleted" by ONLY removing the text of the add...The initial ad should be somewhere..Now if no one posted to that ad, I believe you can delete the entire ad.
Once there is a response the ad SHOULD remain even without text.

No, it’s the WTB ad that I can’t find. No transaction was involved, hence no feedback. I saw the ad and immediately went to look for the FS ad from which I purchased my X-Pro2. When I went back to the WTB ad, intending to respond, it was gone. And remains gone. I wanted to see what I had paid for it, and I thought I might send him a link to that ad so that he could check it out but his WTB ad was gone. I guess he was able to delete it somehow, but that seems surprising.

If I am wrong, someone will correct me BUT...if someone posts an ad and someone responds, in ANY text in the post box, it cannot be 100% deleted. Text can be "deleted" but ad is there..
No response "ad" = was= "Deleted"...

That’s what I would expect. At first I thought I must have just made some dumb mistake about the WTB ad, but I’m positive I saw it. The X-Pro2 jumped out at me because I have recently thought of selling mine. Also, I remember that he said in the ad that he “thought it was a long shot”, so I searched for the phrase “long shot” with the search tool, limiting the search to message bodies on the B&S board. No luck.
I tend to be like a dog with a bone on stuff like this: I just now posted a WTB ad for an X-H1 to see if I could then delete it. Answer: no. I don’t see a tab to change the status, the way you can on a FS ad. So maybe I made some other mistake about this vanishing ad, but I can’t imagine what it was.
And to answer the obvious question: yeah, if someone responds to my WTB ad for an X-H1, I’ll buy it if the condition and price are right.
