Honestly, it is hard to believe this setup is well over a century old. It looks like it sat in a time capsule.
The mahogany wood on the R.O.C. body is absolutely gorgeous with beautiful finger-joint detailing, the brass has a lovely natural patina, and the bellows are remarkably clean and crisp.The front standard features the original R.O.C. View Camera nameplate out of Rochester, NY. It is currently mounted with a B&J Rapid Convertible lens inside a classic Wollensak "Automatic" pneumatic shutter. The glass is remarkably clear for its age.
The Details:
Cosmetics: Stunning condition. Wood and brass are excellent.
Ground Glass: Note that the rear ground glass does have a hairline crack across it (visible in photos), but it is fully intact and usable.
The Shutter: The pneumatic shutter is currently frozen and won't fire. It's just a classic case of century-old grease drying up from sitting idle, so it will need a standard CLA or flush to get it shooting again.
Selling it as-is for someone who wants a beautiful, straightforward restoration project or a museum-grade display piece.
