I liked the gold "sign", but was boring in my head alone. Needed extra, and they had reflections. Maybe good enough.

I think this is pretty much the most commonly used composition in photography, and is pretty much like the composition you used in the 450 photo. Don’t be afraid to try something different, you might surprise yourself.
I don’t think is is about the amount of stuff in a photo. In this image I’m missing a relationship between the elephant and anything else in the photo. To you the elephant might say dining along with the tables outside saying dining, but to the average viewer not so much. Focal points are to add interest to the subject, and to pull viewers eyes around the image.
