Found this forum by accident, and glad I did. It's inspiring to see the level of engagement among photographers.
That said, is there somewhere on this site where there is a deep background on how to buy/sell, the etiquette on forums threads, and "what to expect"?
Given my initial interactions, it be helpful to have more background to avoid pitfalls.

My number one suggestion: be active, interact on more than just Buy/Sell Forum. Become engaged in discussions with the rest of us, submit some of your work. In other words, use this forum to its full potential.
Do all this with a sense of respect, and you will be a very welcome member of the forum

+1 on this. I tried to search for rules or guides on here and don't see anything. Are these just known for more experienced users or did someone write these down somewhere?

My "brother" Douglas nailed it!
I will add..do NOT take anything for granted on B&S! Vet the seller or buyer and if your gut sez, "Danger Wil Robinson"..it is!
MY policy, if the items is a high dollar item, I call and speak with the seller.
While in my 20+ years here and on B&S, this procedure has worked for me 100%.
I always compare the "asking price" to the present market and to what KEH or MPB is asking for the similiar eqpt.
Just be careful and cautious.
Fred's warnings on the B&S forum is well woth reviewing.

PP G&S is the standard "fee assessed" payment correct?
I heed Fred's warning about "F&F' PP and other "no fee" services unless I know the seller or buyer.

It is written down but not in a "flow chart" type of text. Most, if not ALL, is coming from personal experiences or what members incur on the "F&M" forum.....

I'm here in the same boat. Paid the $ to buy and sell, listed a few things, only to get some not so pleasant reactions all because I didn't have any feedback. So it seems that no one will buy or sell to and from me because I have no feedback. So if that's the case, how am I to ever get feedback in the first place if it's this way
