If you have a lens with a 77mm filter thread, like a 70-200mm f/2.8 zoom, and you'd like to get much much closer to your subject, then this handy lens / filter on the front of your 70-200mm lens will get you there.
The literature on this lens says it has two achromatic elements to correct chromatic aberrations, and it does not degrade the high optical performance of EF lenses.
Of course, this fits on your Nikon and Sony 70-200mm f/2.8 lens as well.
This item has been used sparingly, and I see no scratches on the lens surfaces.
