I want to setup a button on my A7R6 to magnify the image after it has completed AF to check that the focus is exactly where I want it. Not to use in all the time, of course, just for checking in critical situations. I always use AF-C but the camera says magnify is not an option with that mode. Can it be done another way or is it not possible? So far I have not found any combinations of settings that get around it.
I have been trying to do this on an A1 II but can't find a way to do this, I used to do this on Nikon but I don't see any way to do this on a Sony body.
If you’re going to stop and check focus, why use AFc? There are multiple ways to do it with AFs or any lens with a AF/MF switch, click it to MF and punch in with the magnify button. DMF can also do what you want. But not in AFc. There is a focus magnify mode too, just not in AFc. Cheers

If I am tracking someone in AF-C it seems natural to magnify to check the exact focus -- speed of movement permitting of course -- and there isn't time to switch to AF-S or MF. Magnification in itself should not stop tracking. It's just the feed to the viewfinder which is enlarged. I guess I don't understand why Sony introduced the limitation.
