Made in 1973, this Leica Summicron-M 50mm F/2 V3 remains in incredible condition and comes complete with original box, bubble, hood, and caps. The optics are nearly spotless - just a touch of dust - and are without haze or fungus. The outside of the lens shows very light wear as shown in the photos. Focus is smooth with perfect damping (not too tight as many are). Aperture could feel a bit more defined, but isn't sloppy and works properly. Image rendering is really gorgeous - sharp, with enough contrast and detail to make my M10R happy, but not clinical and overly modern. Wide open the edges soften out but the center remains quite sharp. It can flare in pretty ways when you want it to, but is well behaved if you don't point it at the sun.

I've come to appreciate focus tabs and a shorter focus throw than what the 50/2 V3 offers otherwise I'd keep this one as I love the images it makes. I also shoot 35 much more often than 50 these days. Happy to consider trades for other 35mm or certain 50mm M-mount glass.

I'm new to Fred Miranda, but have been selling and shipping for nearly 30 years. I'm happy to provide background, references, etc upon request.

Tracked shipping into the USA is INCLUDED in the price and that includes the tarriffs and clearance fees. (It adds up to $85 in the event you return the lens). I ship into the USA many times a week as part of my day job (not cameras) and am intimately familiar with the process.

I can accept paypal, but very much prefer Visa or MC if possible as Paypal isn't kind to us Canadians when it comes to getting our money out.

Questions? DM me anytime.

Many thanks,
Mark
