Honestly I’m not sure what flower this is but I thought I would share the picture as I’m pretty proud of it. There were a bunch of wild flowers beside the rails at the Ride the Rails station in Rhode Island, the lighting seems perfect so I snap a few photos with a rf 24mm macro lens and this was the best of the bunch in my opinion.
Someone always asks me what the flower is; when I shoot, I'm just capturing what I see/like.
For those aching to know, Google Images says it's "Calendula, commonly known as a pot marigold."
It's a beautiful color, stands out against the background; I like the sassy curly petals at 10 o'clock, 4 (and 6?).
I was going to suggest a member of the daisy...zinnia family before a "search" There is a website that will look at the image and tell you what it is. I have used it often and it has been correct 100%.
My zinnias have that "curly q" petal near the center..Thought I had a pic for another comparison....I will try later..
I just take flower pictures and enjoy it! Symmetry, color, bokeh....what's not to like?
Beautiful!
Dan
