No Peaking while magnifying in OM-1

p.1 #1 · No Peaking while magnifying in OM-1

I am new to MFT, Olympus/OM and my OM-1, which I just purchased from a fellow FM user.

I llike both Peeking and Magnify and want to be able to use them at the same time but can't seen to figure out why.

OM-1 (not Mark II), firmware 1.9 (latest)

AF Mode = S-AF+MF
MF Assist → Magnify = ON
MF Assist → Peaking = ON
Peaking color = Red, High

Magnify is triggered by rotating the focus ring just fine.

Peaking works perfectly with Magnify OFF.

As soon as Magnify activates, the red peaking overlay disappears completely, even while continuing to rotate the focus ring.

Can anyone with an original OM-1 confirm whether they see peaking while the image is magnified, or is this expected behavior on the Mark I?
