That last shot is just amazing - the simplicity of the "user interface" (as it were)...
On long band trips in high school (in a bus just like this), our bus driver and band director would entertain themselves - the driver would work the clutch, while the band director (standing next to him) would reach down and shift the gears. They got pretty good at their timing, but if they missed & ground the gears or stalled out, they just had a good laugh. Otherwise as far as I know they were very responsible adults!
