p.1 #1 · IDSworks Slimmest(?) Leica M Case

Hey All, I've been keeping an eye on IDSwork's newly released slim case for the Leica Ms. Looks like they're claiming it's the thinnest and lightest aluminum case available. The images do look pretty attractive, and I love the magnetic cover over the battery area. Anyone have any experience with their current camera grips for Leica M11s? It looks like they're reusing the same design as those, which always seemed a bit too curved, like I wouldn't get a good well, grip on it. The case otherwise looks pretty perfect to me, price notwithstanding.

New slim case.

They did a nice write up on the process.

I have a friend who is a cobbler and we have had extensive conversations of similar ilk.

I've helped him make custom cases for LEO ... but, never could get him to make one for my cameras.

So, even as the price is a bit of a sticker shock, yeah ... I know what goes into the leather work, including helping him source hides, etc. It's definitely a manual process that warrants a slow approach for a variety of the process(es). It can be hastened and costs reduced, but exceptional, precision quality leather work ... yeah, it does come with a price tag to match.

Thanks for sharing.
