My wife and I have a trip coming up to Scotland for 5 days and London for 4 days. I would like to see what spots in/around Inverness and Edinburgh would be worth trying to photograph puffins along the coast. Currently have a tour for the Farne Islands but looking at possible fallbacks.
Also would love to see if there are other birds, landscapes, etc. that are worth driving to.
Just seen this:
When in Edinburgh - trips to see puffins Isle of May (from Fife or Scottish seabird Centre, North Berwick ). No puffins breed on coast near Edinburgh, just islands in the Firth of Forth.
In Inverness I believe that you will have to travel to Troup Head.
The Scottish Ornithologist Club have a useful app 'where to watch birds in Scotland' which may help
