Hi FM,
I recently got an L10, and I'm enjoying it so far. My first time with Panasonic, and I'm wondering whether it's possible to configure the tracking autofocus to be willing to lock onto more than one subject at a time. On my Canon cameras, there is a "base" tracking mode that would let me track-to-recompose on a building or a tree, but would remain active for eye detection.
Does anyone with more Panasonic experience know if there is a way to allow eye detection and inanimate object tracking? Is there a way to set up a custom button for a different AF mode? Right now, when I go into person or animal tracking mode, the AF point reverts to a static point if that subject isn't detected.
I have tried some google searches but haven't found anything yet. Appreciate your help!

If it works anything like the GH7, if you are in tracking mode with face detection on, and there is no face, then it will track as it normally would without face detection on. I can lock the tracking box onto whatever I want and it sticks like crazy glue.
The GH7 does track multiple faces, and then you would use the joystick to toggle between them to decide which is most important to you. I presume you can do the same on the L10 with the screen or the rear command dial if it is set up for direct area focus.
I am waiting, not very patiently I might add, for my L10.
