This was interesting. I have a 1971 vintage 500C (M) transition period camera with a pre T* coated 80.
I hooked the CFV50II back up to it and the results were surprising. The focusing screen in the body is a split image but not a brightscreen or acute matte. I was still able to get reasonably accurate focus. It's cool to have this option on a vintage camera.

I have thought about going that route but the price of the back was more than I wanted to invest unfortunately.

I agree. I looked at them when they first came out and really came close. About a year ago I traded a lens for a 907/50 kit and it's been useful and fun.

That is a very fun setup to shoot. I also have 500C body coupled with CFV100C back.

Keep in mind that you can also attach XCD lenses to the CFV backs. It's not only for the vintage film bodies and their lenses.

I have an X2D and five of the XCD lenses. I like it and the 907 with these lenses but being able to use the old body and lenses was a fun project.

That is very cool and could be sneaky. From the front a normal person might see it as a film camera that could have an A12 on it.
