This was interesting. I have a 1971 vintage 500C (M) transition period camera with a pre T* coated 80.
I hooked the CFV50II back up to it and the results were surprising. The focusing screen in the body is a split image but not a brightscreen or acute matte. I was still able to get reasonably accurate focus. It's cool to have this option on a vintage camera.
