Selling my Canon EF 300mm f/2.8L IS USM, Version 1, date code UW1022. I am the original owner. This lens has been very well cared for and has not seen hard use. I used it mainly for my kids’ sports, and the reason for sale is simply that it is not getting enough use. If you know Canon super telephoto glass, you know this lens still holds up beautifully for sports and wildlife.
Condition is 9+ by FM standards. Optically, it is excellent. Front and rear elements are clean with no scratches, scuffs, cleaning marks, or coating wear. There is minimal internal dust with no impact on images. No haze and no fungus. Mechanically, everything works exactly as it should. The USM autofocus locks instantly, image stabilization engages smoothly, and all switches click firmly into place. The tripod foot has no marks. Cosmetic condition is also excellent. There is one small scar on the lens hood and two very small marks near the rear of the lens. The photos show the only blemishes on the lens. Please review all photos carefully. I tried to photograph the cosmetic blemishes clearly.
Included are the rear cap, original lens cover (in excellent condition), lens hood, Canon strap, original hard trunk case, and Canon manual. Also includes a Canon 52mm drop-in polarizer. The trunk case, like the lens, is in excellent condition. If you have been looking for a clean 300 2.8 IS, this is an excellent one which is ready to shoot.
