My funky little town has some beautiful row home dating back to the 1700's.
These were from the very early 1900's.

INDEED! My little town keeps the "center city" all "spit and polished". This year it seemed that when they painted them in the Spring, many went to more vibrant colors!

The blue on the left house is from a brilliant blue sky(window glass and "stoop".
