A few blocks from my house someone appropriated a a lot that has been left empty for years and filled it with wild flowers. It's was quite a lovely surprise to stumble into them a few days ago, I had to go home and grab the camera and head back over to get some photos of them.

5, 6, 11 and 12 are my picks and very attractive Bruce. I've replaced a section of my lawn with wildflowers and it's been a delight. I'm slowly replacing more of it and get 3 seasons of joy and lots of eyes on my lawn as people walk past.
what a neat set of pictures. i think you have found a place to come every year when they are in bloom. a great assortment of flowers and the insects really complete the pictures. thanks for sharing.
Thanks everyone for the kind words and picks! I always enjoy knowing what other folks like

Oh that's awesome Morris, I love when people do this. We've stopped mowing and tending to our backyard and have converted it into a huge garden with a mix of some wildflowers, fruits/veggies, and other flowers my wife likes. We still keep the traditional front yard but I like the idea if turning that into wild flowers too!

What is that butterfly on #12? Such a beautiful image overall #2 and #8 for me as well nicely done!
Karl
Thanks! I.. don't know. I'm pretty bad with names of things. I love taking photos of insects, birds and flowers but 98% of the time I don't know any of the names of them.

Thanks. I hope to visit that spot a few times a year and I've little excuse not to, it's a few blocks away from me. I assume some different flowers will bloom through the seasons so that will keep it fresh too.
