I purchased this camera used in 2021, mainly for the lens which I thought would be "vintage." It turns out the lens is more "modern" than I thought, so have only shot a few roll since then. This camera is called "legendary" in some quarters, see https://high5cameras.com/all-articles/camera-reviews/minolta-xd-series for lots more. For someone learning photography (DoF vs. shutter speed vs. aperture) it will be an excellent tool.

Features: Viewfinder cover lever for use with cable release, fast 1.4 lens, split screen and prism focuser, lens has intermediate F-stops, compact size and light weight. Comes with fresh pair of silver oxide batteries installed.

I ran at least one roll of film through it in 2021 with no operational or image quality problems.

I just performed these checks:
- Manual, aperture priority, and shutter priority operation checked ok

- Wear: there is some "brassing" on the body from normal use. Otherwise very minimal signs of use.

- Internal light meter accuracy confirmed with Sekonic L-308S external meter

- Shutter speeds visually checked, each successive speed lets in 1/2 the amount of light as preceding one (15th, 30th, 60th, 120th, 250th, 500th, 1000th).

- No fog, fungus, balsam separation, or excessive dust in finder or lens.

- Diaphragm is clean with no oil or grease.

There is a single scratch on front lens element, see photo. This will not affect image quality.

Scratch on front element as described.
