p.1 #1NP-SA100 Weirdness
The battery state of charge is whacky. When trying to run the battery down in the a7RVI for testing the indicated level changes in a non-monotonic way. After reaching single digits % remaining, e.g., 4% it jumps back up again to 12% after waking up from auto sleep. Then it can go up or down. I don't think this is realted to the camera, but the BMS in the battery pack. Overall battery life is excellent for a Sony. I don't recall this jumping around with the NP-FZ100 but I was usually testing it on a generic 2-wire battery plate.

Obviously there are no 3rd party chargers yet. I'm really hoping for those to do more extensive testing.

I'm not finding any date codes on the NP-SA100 batteries. The microscopic codes appear to be product codes and the 2D barcode does nothing. Is there any way to determine the battery assembly date like on the NP-FZ100?
Maybe it does not matter now, but in a couple of years I'd like to know battery age at purchase. I have no doubts that the NP-SA100 is the future of the A1 and A9 series.
