A bay at Jersey Shore, that is, not that Bay.

The sun goes down and the otherwise unobtrusive lampposts light up. So many lampposts.

A surprisingly pleasing result for an experiment with pattern photography.

No. three carries the set for me, Malka. I think at each separate location, "the Bay" is likely correct!

I know what you mean. Funny how that works. I've been after these lamp posts for months. They are very striking, especially when lit en masse, but I am yet to nail it. The pier underbelly - I'd seen it before and ignored it. This last time it caught my eye and the picture practically composed itself. I just had to chose which support segment to bring into focus.

Re. "the Bay" - I wanted to avoid confusion with San Fransisco Bay Area which folks in that part of the country know as "The Bay". The other shining sea.

I like first picture the most. Minimalist and simple composition. One half houses, other half the bridge and lights. Left half of the water has no ripples, right half has ripples and reflection of the lights. Left half is basically monochromatic, the right side has the flag and coloured lights. And who doesn't like blue hours pics, right? It's also funny how there is space in-between the birds for the flag.

Thank you for detailed feedback! A few disparate elements came together nicely. This bay park is great for sunsets, even if the sun goes down over the mainland. I love blue hour too, and my excellent Sigma 24-70 2.8 gave me this bright image without having to lower ss and smudge the birds.
