Looks like CA to me.

True .. the lighting in that area did change quite a bit due to sun coming out from the clouds and back in.

It's a combination of veiling glare (internal flare) and LoCA. The front edges of the white coats are in front of the focal plane, which should be on the girls’ faces; this produces the red/magenta fringing typical of longitudinal chromatic aberration. These edges are also very bright and reflective, and internal flare adds to LoCA. This lens is not exactly free of chromatic aberrations and its anti-reflective coatings are not exactly state-of-the-art.

could the internal flare be due to the kolari thin filter vs stock filter?

Finally got a chance to use this for my niece's white coat ceremony. Do love the chactacter of the lens, not perfect for sure but thats the beauty of it right? .. i did noticed couple of odd behaviors with it though but wondering if it could be the Techart AF adapter. Need to use it more to see, or maybe go back to manual adapter. -- Sony A7C with Kolari Thin Filter + Techart AF Adapter

Did you make any adjustments to the image, or is the "ghosting" on the white coat already present in the RAW file? If it's in the RAW file, I believe it's spherical aberration in the form of a glow. If you don't want that in your images, just stop down half a stop to a full stop and it should disappear while the structural rendering stays intact.

That said, on a couple of the "hair-strand-over-white-lapel edges" I do catch a faint purple tinge, which would technically be LoCA. SA and LoCA often show up together in fast lenses stopped wide open.

This has nothing to do with using the lens on a Leica or a Sony...or with internal reflections.

Here is a similar glow on the words (E 300) shot with the Leica M-D:

Yes image processed but the glow does appear in the RAW as well. Thanks for addtl info, i'll be mindful of that when shooting with the lens. I did shoot mainly wide open

You can see it clearly here because the front element fogged up from the high humidity...just from stepping out of the air conditioning into the humid outdoor air: https://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/1944659/5#17080984

Do you have the Standard or Low-contrast version?

Ahh yes. i do recall seeing that post prior. and yes this is the low contrast version. Forgot to mention that during the post.
But yea, i was curious since i did get the Kolari thin filter done not too long and havent shot much with it since.

In the U.S., you have this crazy habit of setting your air conditioners to refrigerator temperatures...

That's exactly what happened. My hotel lobby was set to 70°F with dry AC, and the second I stepped outside into 100°F humidity, the lens fogged up immediately.

The lower contrast yields more wide-open glow, as I compared here: https://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/1944659/2#17055636

I prefer the low-contrast look, but if you want less glow wide open, go with the Standard version. One caveat, though: while the Standard version shows less glow, it actually shows higher LoCA. haha.

lol compromise either way eh. But thats the nature of shooting with non "modern" type lens 😆. But yea i do like the low contrast version. I'll just have to keep that in mind when shooting!

Yes, in the end, it really comes down to which compromise you prefer. Flawless, "uncompromised" lenses tend to feel a bit boring to me, though they certainly have their place.

Here’s one more sample showing the wide-open glow from the Low Contrast version (shot on the M10-P):

100% crop from image above showing glow. Worse case (reflected metal against dark surface)
