p.1 #1 · Profoto A10 with C8 Firmware TTL Overexposure?

Has anyone here have any issues with a Nikon Z9/Z8 that has A10 Overexposure (about 1.5 stops) with the C8 firmware? C7 is fine...which is ironic because per release notes C8 is supposed to improve Nikon TTL.

Have you sent a note to Profoto about it? I don’t have an A10, but my other Profoto lights are up to code and no issues like you described. Is it when you import the photos for post processing?

Just had a chance to test this out with my Z8 and a rental Profoto A10, and can confirm that the TTL exposure was all over the place, to the point that I just shot it in manual for the rest of the wedding.

Kind of scratching my head, because I have usually had solid TTL from profoto speedlites on the Z9 and Z8. Not sure if it's a firmware issue or not, but at this point I can't risk it for the next wedding I'm shooting and just picking up an SB5000.

Evidently the issue was announced as fixed with ver C8 for the A10. That was in March of this year. Unfortunately, I don't have an A10 to test it with.

Hm just checked the firmware of the Z8 I was shooting with the A10, and it was with version 3.00, not the latest 3.10, so that may have been the reason.

In any case, I decided to just give the Godox V100 a try for my next wedding in a couple weeks. I've heard that the TTL metering in it is better than past Godox speedlites.

Decided not to get a SB-5000, as all the used ones I found were a few years old and in the $200-300 range, about the cost of a new V100, and I like that the V100 has 100 ws vs the ~75 ws in the SB-5000 and A10.
