On closer inspection I realized the Camel pack pictured is the box and might be the filtered cigarette, but Uncle Dom smoked the soft pack well before filters were available and like all WWII Navy veterans they were held in the sleeve of his T-shirt.
I quit smoking 21 years ago and have been chasing young ladies in spin class ever since.
Happy Memorial Day
Back at ya brother Frank!
Mom and dad were WWII Navy vets and my mother outranked my dad! Always wondered why he called her "Chief"....
I tried smoking but my lungs just couldn't take it!

Dan, nice shot of the VW Bus. I was driving behind a slightly newer version with the water cooled 4 cylinder engine on a trip through Quebec. The owners had swapped in a Subaru RS 2.5 Liter engine. That's 182 HP.
When working in France I smoked filter-less Gitane. For years after that, each time I returned to Paris I recognized the Gitane smell mixed with the Diesel fumes.

Thank you Joachim!
I had a 1972 VW camper and loved it!
I played a joke on my mother one day, I put one of those "cigarette exploders" in her Chesterfield and it blew up...she was stunned but took it well and NO I did NOT let on that I was the one who did that.
