Just installed the update via the creator’s app and everything seems fine. I’m planning on using this camera for some professional shoots that involve off camera flash this weekend, and will be doing a ton of testing tomorrow.
If I do encounter any issues, I have A7RIV’s and X-T5’s to fall back to.

I wish they can add the named memory that's available on A7RVI to A7V.
Not sure if there are any real improvement with Real-time Recognition AF+ in recognizing distant subjects, and if that can be implemented in A7V as well.
hm, I cannot see there in there that makes me want to do the upgrade. I did it anyhow because I have never tried to upgrade firmware via the Sony Creators app. I guess it was easy enough once you signed in, got the connection going, etc. No issues so far.
Finally we can cancel transfer of images when using FTP. Ran into this issue a handful of times where I had to let the process complete when I wanted to cancel out of it part way. Thought it was just a user operator thing; didn't think it was an actual firmware limitation until now.
Lots of issues with flash transmitters with this firmware.
I had two shoots with the A7V that involved off camera flash with Godox triggers.
First shoot was fast paced, lasted 25 minutes, and there was maybe one minute at most in between shots. There was about 150 shots in 25 minutes. No issues.
Second shoot was in a studio where we had mini sessions and when there was 2-5 minutes between shoots. My Godox X2T was constantly disconnecting from my camera that required pulling it from the hotshoe and remounting it. I switched to my Godox V480, set it up as a transmitter, and the issues persisted. Fortunately with the V480 I could just power it down, power it back up, and the transmitter worked again.
Through all of this the camera indicated the flash was connected, but the flash would not fire.
I set the camera and the flash to not power down/sleep, but the issues persisted.
I think I figured out the issues. In recent Sony compatible Godox devices there is a "New Agreement" setting. For some reason that was causing issues with this latest firmware when on. Setting "New Agreement" to off has resolved the issues.
Just finished updating my camera.
Hardest part for me was finding where some of the menu settings were that need to be checked before doing the update.
I used my memory card and it worked out fine.
[Let's out a BIG sigh of relief as he types this.]
