Up for sale is my beloved Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 600mm f/4E FL ED VR (Nikon F-mount). **purchased used from Map Camera** Some have asked if Nikon USA will service it. I don't know, but I'm calling tomorrow. This lens has been a dream for wildlife work — it's the glass behind my snowy owl shoots. Tack-sharp wide open, fast and accurate AF (including with teleconverters), and VR good enough to hand-hold in lower light. The fluorite elements keep the weight sane for a 600 f/4, and it pairs beautifully with the FTZ adapter on my Z9 — full AF and VR retained.
I love this lens and it's served me incredibly well. It's only leaving because I picked up the Z 400mm f/2.8 TC VR S for the Z9 and I'm consolidating to a lighter field kit — this sale helps fund that move. Otherwise it wouldn't be going anywhere.
Condition: Excellent. Glass is flawless — no haze, fungus, separation, scratches, or meaningful dust. Barrel and rings show only light, careful field use, with no dings or heavy brassing. The tripod foot has some minor cosmetic scuffing from normal use. AF, VR, aperture, and all electronics function perfectly. It looks and performs like a lens that's been well cared for.
