Another reviewer complained that motorized zoom takes 2.5-2.6sec to go from wide to tele, not his choice of camera esp in comparison to S9 18-40mm mechanical zoom...You can also program the top dial as step zoom if you are not switching the image size options...
I think a lot of the size difference now comes down to our demands for better AF and processing of images, options etc. Power needs juice and cooling for thr processors. Size dissipates heat better than compact bodies, cheaper than many other solutions.

Yes, that is the explanation, similar to size difference btw pen-f and OM-3. Outlier is RX1R III... We'll see if OM will bring new pen-f or Panasonic will bring GX10 with same processors...

One thing I do like the trade off to the size thing is the battery life. As nice as RX100IV is to me size wise, and also by extension my smaller A5100 ILC setup, both has pretty abysmal battery life when comparing against my normal A7IV setup. I think them having stuff the same size battery as their larger camera and giving it a 400+ shot rating is a good thing in my book, despite the increase in size...

Got an email from Panasonic a couple of days ago saying they will soon be releasing it again in limited numbers, and I will be notified if my place in line comes up.
Buying it directly from Panasonic gives you a 4 year warranty vs 1(or 2?) from regular places.
Not sure if I'm going to go through with it, as I really like the idea of a used Nikon Z30 w kit zoom lens and larger sensor for $400...
Not digging the B&W images. They have a very low contrast 50 shades of grey look to them. Zero punch.
But I am sure that is due to the processing/profile selected.

He seems to have used the photo styles that are baked into the camera, probably without fine-tuning I am guessing.
I thought the same thing about the B&W images. Personally I am not in the market for the camera.
B&W camera profiles are Monochrome, L Monochrome, L Monochrome D, L Monochrome S, Leica Monochrome. One version is lighter (maybe S) vs others might be darker, contrasty, etc. Here is a video on L10 profiles:
I have to dig into the L10 editing options for the color filters as Om-3 and GR III X gives the darkest blue conversions with red color filter in jpeg profiles as options...

Got an email from Panasonic saying they have received a batch of L10s, and I could have one if I wanted. Enclosed an invitation code.
Couldn't pull the trigger. I keep thinking when Leica comes out with their version with a shutter speed dial on the top instead of mode dial, and cleaner interface I would regret getting the L10 even if it is cheaper.
Also a used Z30 w zoom lens at $400 just seems so attractive. It fits my hand perfectly and has a bigger sensor.
