p.1 #1 · How do you keep your soft shutter button attached?

I enjoy having a soft shutter release on my Fuji cams, but I've lost at least 3 because they come loose and disappear. Does anyone use a dab of loctite or something to keep it secure?

I don't want to use locktite so I periodically check my button to make sure it is secure. So far, so good.

Usually a soft washer goes between button and shutter release, acts as a locking washer. Mine's been on Xpro2 8 yrs and never come off.

I avoid this problem by…

… not using one.

sometimes the pitch is not machined well and it backs out. just use high quality one that is specified for your threads. the locking washer mentioned helps as well. i just screw it in until it feels torqued and settled in without snapping then just periodically check. Loctite and super glue I would avoid (i've tried it in the past and they also just come off eventually if the threads aren't good and you're left with damage or hard to remove residue). you could try a bit of ptfe tape

How soft is it? Rubber? Silicone?

Dunno, haven't analysed it! Sold for the purpose, in fact supplied with the button. I suspect it's synthetic, probably silicon, hasn't deteriorated in 8 years on the Xpro2 so unlikely to be rubber.
It’s a well kmown issue so I think any decent supplier will include one.

I think this is a common issue, I just posted the same thread and just found this one. I've also lost 3. I'm going to start ordering from Temu since it's immensely annoying.

What's the relevance of Temu here? Just a cheap supply so you always have one on-hand?

I need to find one that comes with this mysterious rubber/synthetic washer (or go find a washer).

I’ve only lost one ever, and that was on my Nikon which does not use the soft washer. Never lost a JJC on a Fuji.

I'm not sure what resistance people have to using Loctite. Its exactly what it is designed for. Ok, maybe don't use the green which is extra strong. I lost 3 or 4 and was nervous of over-tightening and screwing it up. Loctite Blue, no more problem. I really don't like the feel of the shutter release without the button added.
