I’ve been blessed to be in the Blue Ridge mountains for the last several days. This region has had my heart since my first visit 18 years ago, and later I found out my ancestors came from here and it makes more sense why I feel a connection in these mountains unlike any other place I’ve been in America. This time of year presents budding forests with subtle colors that almost remind one of autumn, foggy rain clouds adding atmosphere, and the always glorious views of layer after layer of ridges. If my love for this land comes through in the images, I’ll have done my job
Great images Ross! I especially like you shots of the multi-color tree tops and also the last image with the sun emerging from a cloud - not sure if this is sunrise or sunset...

Thanks, Jacob! I really enjoy the colorful forest blossoms here. That last image is sunset.

Just beautiful Ross!
I too LOVE the Blue Ridge mountains! Just layers of mountain ridges that hide beauty in so many forms.
Air seems to just lay upon the hill sides..
Beautiful Ross!

Dan, I remember from some past comments that you share a love for the Blue Ridge region also. I find there’s something really special about being there, different from other great places in America (and of course there are many). I may end up spending the entire month of October there so I can follow all the color from highest elevations down to the valleys. And I keep dreaming of having a cabin there...

YES!!!
Many circumstances brought me down the "Skyline Drive" for pleasure and business.
My parents lived in Roanoke, Va. for a few years on Smith Mountain Lake.
You want a cabin? Look here! Fantastic area.....
Suzanne and I started vacationing in Asheville, NC many years ago, and the drive into NC on Skyline Drive, along the Blue Ridge, was fantastic and we always went in October!!!!
You have the "Smokies" there and all things beautiful in Western NC, Eastern Tennessee....
We stayed at a farm outside of Asheville. It had a beautiful cabin and llamas roamed the pastures.
Here are a few pics!
Thanks again!

Relaxin' on the veranda at the Biltmore You NEED 1 day just for the Biltmore!
Here is the cabin we stayed in for a week.
My 1st "4 legged" child was welcomed and I was NOT going to leave her at a kennel.
She had a blast even if Suzanne and I were "sightseeing" for 6-8 hours then dinner.
I am not sure they are still in operation..I did receive an email from them a few years ago so.......
This is "Apu"! He greated us every morning, ears pointing skyward..an apple a day awaited!
Apu=God of mountain
or the sacred mountain spirit "Quechua"
