This looks very appealing and I am hoping Thom Hogan will review it soon.
Has anyone here used it? What do you think? Did you keep it?
I keep thinking a better use of the money may be supplementing my kit 16-50 with faster primes.
I've tested it and it's very good indeed, and has extremely good close-focus capbility. It's also literally the only fast zoom option for APS-C Z mount unless you want to use an adapter.

It's a good event lens, or whatever else you would do with a 24-70mm f/2.8 equivalent.
In terms of DOF and noise, it's equivalent to a 24-70/4 on FX.
Anyway, it's way lighter and would deserve an updated APS-C Z body, even slightly larger than Z50II to accomodate the EN-EL15c battery and a top screen (and a BSI 24-26 Mpix sensor, possibly with IBIS, thanx).

If you ever find yourself in NM, that's Stackers in downtown ABQ. Double green chile cheese smashburger. It's the best.
Oh man, I LOVE green chile cheeseburgers!! When I travel to the SW I usually eat red & green chile dishes in Santa Fe, once in Albuquerque. I’ll have to try Stackers. When I camp in Alamogordo for White Sands shoots I always hit Blakes Lottaburger and get double green chile on it.
The 16-50/2.8 looks like a sweet way to go on Z50II, nice size/weight of that package.
Well GAS got the better of me and I have just picked up a minty one locally.
So far I have only had a moment to take a few shots from our front door.
Looking forward to more time with it tomorrow.
Thanks for all the encouraging comments and photos.
Now I need someone to buy my 18-140! I would actually like to keep both as they are quite complementary but I would never carry both at the same time so would inevitably regret my choice! A bit extravagant too.
