Out of curiosity, how are these people getting their XT's early? I thought it wasn't supposed to be released until the 20th? I saw some other people replying to that thread and stating they were getting their XT's this week from Best Buy and even B&H. Am I missing something?

I picked one up for a family member yesterday at Norman Camera. They got in 5 black bodies, and silver kits with lenses. They were not expecting the black body only until the 20th, so they were as surprised as we were.

Wow is it small when held back to back with my MKII. But boy is it an improvement over the 300D she had previously.

Link about body and BG-E3 shipping HERE.

I'm not sure, but it probably doesn't mean "hippie". That guy has way too much expensive photo equipment to be a hippie:

Jeesh. He must have inhereted an ocean of oil.

wow, all those nice lenses and attatching them to a Dreb ....and what's up with the 400/5.6 stacked with 2x (2x t/c)'s and a 1.4x...what's that work out to? Something like 3584mm equiv (including crop factor) at f/22-MAX

We got the XT's in on Wednesday. I've been really impressed with it so far. I didn't think I'd be saying this, but I prefer the XT in Silver rather than black. They improved the body material, and with the silver camera, there are some nice dark accents that make it seem more stylish. The black one looks dinky by comparison.

I actually thought the opposite when I sat them side by side. The black one looks a lot better when you mount it to a black lens. The only thing I didn't like on the black one was that the area where fingertips go on the right side got all white after I picked it up and set it down a couple of times. Of course it was like 20 outside, and the humidity in the store was about 10%, so the fact my fingertips were like chalk sticks probably contributed.

I'd probably have to get a silver one so I wouldn't confuse it with my MK2. ;-)
