Normally it takes me a few weeks till I can get photos of swallows in flight yet yesterday I succeeded the first time I saw them this season. I was at Oakland Lake here in New York City on a cold morning and the birds were hungry, possibly because they just finished a long journey and/or because of the just below freezing temperature. I watched and observed there flight patterns for a few minutes and then I went to work now able to somewhat predict when they would turn. I saw Barn Swallows, Tree Swallows, and Northern Rough-winged Swallows. None of the Barn Swallows came close enough for a photo.
Comments and suggestions welcome,
Morris

Nice set Morris, especially #2 - a great catch of the hunt! We started seeing the swallows last week. Great news here on the cold and rainy northwest coast.

Another excellent set of images, Morris -- congrats on these!
N0. 2 is just an excellent action shot, and No.6 also appeals to me.
Greg
Thank you Greg. Two was very far away and it's cropped yet I could not go tight in the crop as I'd louse too much detail. 6 is also cropped yet much less.

Thank you Aditya. Today's shoot with tree swallows is still being culled yet I have some incredible sequence. It will be at least the weekend till I'm ready to share the first.
