I have an M9 up for sale. Comes in original box with original paperwork. The sensor was replaced by Leica years back to a CCD ID 11, but then further it had the Kolari filter upgrade. The Kolari filter is the higher end BG60, which is much closer in color than the standard BG39 filter. Kolari provides a lifetime guarantee on these replacements, the warranty card will be provided.
The camera itself has quite a bit of natural brassing, which looks great. Camera functions perfectly, images as M9 like as you would expect. Viewfinder is clean. The only small issue is the frame selector switch is a little sticky, I think from sticking on the grip that was replaced. When you put a lens on it changes correctly, but if you manually try to move the selector, the best way I can explain is, it’s a little sticky. Buttons work great, no issue there. The M9 logo lost the paint and the red dot was replaced with a black Leica dot. Protective glass over the lcd has some surface scratches on it as can be seen in the pictures. The camera isn't mint, but looks fantastic with the wear. Shutter count is 63K.
I am including 2 32gb sd cards, a thumb grip, an upgraded compact battery charger and 3 batteries that hold a full charge.
Note on CCD IDs from Kolari:
CCD ID Number
Leica made a range of sensors throughout the lifespan of the M9’s production line. CCD 11+ sensors came at a later point and did not suffer from the acid gel formation issue present in earlier models. CCD 11+ sensors have a much harder original adhesive bonding the glass to the sensor and are more time consuming to replace with Schott Glass. CCD 15 and CCD 16 sensors were produced at the end of the M9 production and finally had the corrosion and acid gel issues addressed directly by Leica. We have never seen any CCD 15 or CCD 16 sensor/sensor glass suffer from either issue, and as such, we have no need to replace the glass with corrosion resistant Schott BG glass.
Acid Gel Formation
Earlier Sensors (CCD ID 3-8) have been discovered to suffer from a unique issue stemming from the adhesive used to attach the protective sensor glass to the sensor. This adhesive has been found to denature into an acid gel. If this gel shifts onto the bond wires that feed information from the sensor to the board of the camera, it can corrode these wires and result in permanent digital sensor failure.
