Used mostly with a polarizer filter. I added felt over lettering on front of lens to block reflections off the filter. Down to 8+ because of the added felt.
Here is an explanation off the web of what I experienced and why in the image of the front of the lens you do not now see the writing. Felt could be removed but it took some effort to get it right so I'll let the buyer decide if they want to remove it.
Reflections of lens text (like "1:1.8 50mm" or brand names) on filters, known as ghosting, are common when shooting bright light sources at night or against the sun. Covering these letters with a non-reflective, matte material is an effective solution.
How to Use Felt/Tape to Hide Lens Text
Select Material: Use matte black, adhesive-backed felt or black gaffer tape. Avoid electrical tape, as its vinyl surface is still too reflective.
Application: Cut thin strips of the felt or tape and carefully apply them over the white lettering on the front barrel of your lens.
Alternative: Use black felt to line the inside of your lens hood to prevent light from bouncing off it and reflecting onto the filter.
Other Ways to Eliminate Reflections
Remove the Filter: The simplest solution is to remove the UV/protective filter, especially at night.
Use a Lens Hood: A deep lens hood helps block stray light from hitting the filter.
Shift Angle: Slightly change your angle to the light source to move the reflection out of the frame.
