Have been to kenya a few times and have always heard how great Botswana is. Looking to do a 10 day solo trip visiting a few camps and, ideally, a few days on a river. Looking at late January. Looking for help. Thanks
Hi there. Botswana is an incredible safari destination and it can be tough to know where to start.
There are many concessions so a lot of it comes down to your priorities as well as budget. Wilderness Safaris and Great Plains run some of the most famous camps but I find them prohibitively expensive. If money is no object check them out. I've been to Kwando's concession and had a great time there. Not cheap, but better value for money than the super premium outfits. When the Delta floods you can do mokoro rides there and get in the water. Pangolin is a very popular operation that runs their own hotel as well as a river boat and they specialize in photographic safaris.
This is just a few ideas to start your research. If you've got some more specific questions I can try to be more helpful. Good luck!
Hi Tim,
I'm heading to Botswana for my 3rd time in July for a 20 days safari. I will be spending 10 days in the desert and 10 days in the delta/Okavango region. I do not visit any fancy camps and I've had the best time of my life there. PM me and I'll provide you the details
