I was in a deeply shaded foggy forest in North Carolina when the late afternoon sun started to blast through. The scene stretched the dynamic range capability of the A7R6 in mechanical shutter to the limits and I needed -70 on highlights and +1.67 on exposure to balance the extremes out, but the resulting histogram is a thing of beauty and the final image faithfully conveys the feel I had being there with the light bringing life to the previously dark woodlands.

Normally I would expect to see some distortion but it's not really apparent.
Remains to be seen if one can achieve decent quality in good light but the camera seems to have no trouble keeping the incoming bird in focus - and there was no wind so they were moving pretty fast.
Looking forward to seeing what the A1iii and A9iv can do !

Just to clarify ... did you make those bird photos with electronic shutter or mechanical shutter? Thank you!
