The Los Angeles location repairs the 600mm, 300mm and a couple of other things. Otherwise it goes to Precision. They did a good job and were quick. The bottle neck is always parts.

Precision seems to have really upped their game in recent years. A few months ago, I dropped one of my telephoto lenses onto a concrete floor, causing major damage. I contacted Sony repair on Monday and they immediately sent a shipping label. I had the lens back in my hands the following Monday, like new , with a repair bill that was way less than I expected. A year earlier, I had a similar experience. After sending the camera in, I received a message saying that my repair would be delayed while they waited on parts. I still had the camera back in my hands in nine days!...Show more →
Thanks for the encouragement. Precision sent me an email saying that they have received the camera.
Is it possible to rapidly toggle back and forth from mechanical to electronic shutter by using one of the buttons C1, C2, C3, etc? I know you can use the memory banks 1, 2, * but that's not ergonomic for me.
Thanks, EBH
