Your birding skill is amazing, and the 150-400mm is just a jewel of a lens.
Also, given the level of fine detail in these two images, both shot at f/16, it confirms my opinion that diffraction is not a legitimate issue until you exceed f/16 on m4/3's. I have seen countless comments elsewhere that f/8 is the upper limit for m4/3's -- to that I say "nonsense".

At f/16 the Airy disc is 21.5µm, huge compared to the 3.3µm pixel pitch. If that is not diffraction I don't know what is. Of course most people use small apertures sometimes when DOF is more important than resolution and the modern software does a good job of interpolating missing info.
