My wife and I spent a few days in Death Valley NP back in February. On the third day we got up early (a theme for this trip) and drove to Badwater Basin in the dark so that we could watch the sunrise over the Panamint range. The basin had water in it which only happens about once every ten years. When it has water it's known as Lake Manley. The first image with the moon over the Panamint range in the predawn light was my favorite from the entire trip. Well worth the early wake up call.
