Shot from directly beneath an aging steel bridge, I was drawn to the intersecting lines and repeating patterns of the structure. The weathered metal, rivets, and cross-bracing felt more like a study in tension and balance than a literal scene. Converting to black and white helped strip it down to form, texture, and light.
