p.1 #1 · Osprey takes Carp

I was about to depart Kissena Park here in New York City when I saw an Osprey hunting over the lake. As I was in the upper area of the park I quickly took the stairs down and ran to the side of the lake and planted my tripod. The osprey was orbiting the lake and looking down as they do when they fish. Suddenly it went down and further to my left than it had been going and my view was obstructed by trees so I ran to my right and planted the tripod just in time to line up as it dropped it's talens catching a fish. I've always seen them dive into the water so this was a surprise. I stayed with the Osprey as it made three orbits of the lake probably looking for a place to land with the Carp. The last orbit took it's flight path over me and then the osprey disappeared over the hill I had come down from.

Nice set! #4 is my personal fave, as the lighting is just perfect.

Pretty darn good Morris. Great action set. My favorites are the grab #2, and I will go along with others on #4.

The light on the osprey was great for 4 yet the background of that shot had a small light cloud behind it so I adjusted to bring out the blue in the sky
