Bought this on FM, but no longer have an M camera and don't want to adapt. Priced accordingly, but there are some notes with this lens. Works great, and I was surprised how sharp this lens gets. "This lens has been my daily for the last few years. I bought it brand new from Leica directly in March 2023.
Hood has been updated to the one that does not vignette with filters. I also had Leica replace the clip-on hood, which is a poor design, with a fresh one so the one that comes here is brand new. I didn’t use hoods with this lens, so there is no wear to speak of.
I had DAG remove the infinity lock, which is an annoying vestigial feature from the original. It was quite cheap to have him do that, and the original part is included with this set in case you ever want to have it put back in.
Leica Paris adjusted the aperture ring last year. It was free, but surprisingly they left a couple of small marks on the indentations of the front ring. Oh well - this is a lens for shooting. Collectors can have the $20k original version.
There is a 1mm mark / dull spot on the front element coating - I have no idea what from, as the lens was nearly always covered with a front filter. It is NOT a scratch, nick, or ding - the glass is not affected in any way. I can only describe it as a sort of non-reflective spot on the coating. I don’t think even a pixel-peeper could find this to have any effect on their images.
Rear element is flawless.
