Since the Zr is included it is most likely a rather recent series of production runs that were affected. Likely something within the last year. It sounds like a defective subcomponent on a board.
My Z6III was also clear but then I’ve had it for over a year likely made well before the Zr went into pre-release production.

Sometimes when i turned the camera on, the EVF was black. Turning the camera off and on again solved it. Possible that the on/off switch was on the mainboard.

Depends on how widespread it is. From what I’ve seen it’s a fairly low percentage of cameras that are affected, and it’s likely that if it’s just a component or two on the boards they can take the replaced boards and swap the components for use in future repairs.
