This lens has focus issues. Likely calibration or communication issues with the camera. I can get it to reliably focus on subjects up to about 5ft, beyond that and it becomes unable to acquire focus. Can't do infinity in AF. I was able to use manual focus to acheive true infinity, but it is still finicky at best.

IS appears to work fine. I didn't notice any issues with that.

Glass is fairly clean. Some cleaning marks on the front element and a spot of coating loss. Otherwise takes decent looking photos if your subject is close. Samples provided

This lens needs repairs to work reliably. I have not had it looked it by a professional and I don't know how much it would cost to fix.

Comes with original packaging.

Canon EF 40mm f/2.8 STM - FAULTY APERTURE

Lens itself is fairly clean. Focus works fine. There is an issue with the aperture control. It doesn't not reliable stop down when the shutter fires (or when pressing the DoF button). It does move when coaxed with the DoF button and changing the aperture on the camera. But it often over-exposes because the lens doesn't stop down properly. Suspected ribbon cable issue with aperture control. Could be a cheap/easy fix.
