Upon hearing the ice caves at the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore near Bayfield, WI were open, I booked a place for the following weekend. A storm with 45 mile/hr. winds broke up the ice after the first day, making the caves inaccessible. My wife and I went anyway. No spectacular scenes, but still beautiful in a serene way. There are smaller caves on Chequamegon Bay--Eric.

nice set of pics. the caves must be fascinating when the ice is present. pretty winter scenery by the lake made it worth your time to go. thanks for sharing.

Apostle Islands National Lakeshore was the place I visited once.
It was kingdom of numerous turtles and myriad of mosquitos.
Nicely take landscape images in such cold weather.
