That new adapter, what new does it actually bring to the table?
It has this little sticky thingy that will go in the rabbit ears on F mount lens and this way we would be able to change aperture on lens instead of Z body? Is that right?
1) You got the name wrong for starters, it's the LA-FZ11. The LA-FZ1 is a totally different and already released product.
2) You can't change the aperture on the body for an unchipped Ai-S lens now. No clue what this would do with a chipped F Voigt.
What they are doing is allowing the adapter to "feel" what aperture the lens is set to and communicate that back to the body. The adapter will still need to spoof the focal length so that IBIS works correctly and EXIF is correct, and how that is set and selected we don't know yet. Every company has their own way of doing this.
This will allow for green box focus confirmation on "dumb" unchipped F glass.
I'm guessing. I don't read Japanese and can't be bothered to translate some tweets.
It was not totally clear but there was mention of wireless transmission of lens parameters. I’m guessing that means your manual lens data may be managed with a phone app which is used to tell the adapter which lens is attached. (Or RFID stickers on the lens to ID them? Probably not but would be nice) Then the lens will behave like a chipped manual focus lens with the addition of aperture feedback from the aperture ring to camera.
They did mention this adapter would not support chipped MF lenses even through it has lens contacts built in. For those the said to use the LA-FZ1.
